Frank A.: Canada; I consider myself to be a "plein aire painter", painting in all seasons. The warm days of summer, the shimmering light of fall and the long shadows of winter contribute to the immediacy of my paintings. As a native Ontarian, I feel a strong affinity for the small villages and towns and the ever-changing landscape. They provide a sense of belonging and continue to motivate me in my oil painting. In my past,I was a medical artist for thirteen years, followed by twenty years as a syndicated political cartoonist. The Canadian Archives hold 3,000 pieces of my work. (political cartoons) My paintings are held in national and international private collections.
