My New Sweatshirt...

MY NEW SWEATSHIRT

The lineup for the opening of the first McDonald's in 

Moscow / 1990

Twenty-Six years has since passed.. Feels so long ago that I received

this "McDonald's' Sweatshirt " from the 'leader' of  McDonald's, 

commemorating the opening of their first franchise in the

then Soviet Union in exchange for an

originally published cartoon of the Soviet Leader, 

Mikhail Gorbachev as,  "Ronald McDonald ".

This Sweatshirt (with embroidered logo ) from the 

original shipping envelope, never worn and a bit 

"yellowed with age" around the edges, 

(Hmmm, perhaps not unlike this former political cartoonist !)

is a good reminder for me of a new beginning

that we were still to witness .
