The Stowaways 11' x 14" O/P
A rainy day painting edited and painted using photo reference and composition sketches. The support was a Masonite panel with two coats of gesso . The panel was not pre stained .
For this painting, I used my usual limited palette and Gamsol Odourless Mineral Spirits .
The first dark washes were applied very "wash like" and left to evaporate before applying the lighter colours.
I used a number eight bristle brush and a soft haired quarter inch brush. (for applying the dark washes)
