Gesso application effects the painting..

Old Bales    10" x 12"    O/P

This piece was painted on a unstained Masonite panel that had two coats of gesso applied to its' surface. The gesso was not sanded so that the texture of the dried gesso on the surface was readily
seen and felt.
The gesso was applied in an uneven swirling motion as apposed to even strokes across the surface.
I really liked how the dried gesso effected the lighter brush strokes or drybrush strokes at the beginning of the painting.
This effect may be seen in the larger image. ( left "click" the image for a larger image )

'til next..
