Stella's Cafe, Stella, Amherst Island

Stella's CafĂ©    10" x 12"   O/P

I am still excited by the prospects of painting on Amherst Island. As I mentioned in my last post the subject matter at this time of the year with autumn fast approaching, seem to be ever more endless.

My palette for this painting was my regular limited palette. I used Odourless Mineral Spirits as my medium and brush cleaner. I must mention that I used liquitex with my loose watery darks at the beginning layout of my darks and shadows.  I think that this combination, as it "set" helped to pull the paint from my brush as I proceeded to paint. In some cases not unlike a "dry brush" technique.

I hope that I can keep this series going .

'til next

You have captured the feel of this quaint small village. Makes you want to stop in for a cup of jo.

Foxy.. Thank you for the compliment
It was a fun piece to work on. I am happy that the painting could evoke a response. ;-)

Happy Painting...
