Last Of The Spring Runoff 20" x 24" O/C
This spring painting was painted on a gessoed canvas. Prier to being painted, the canvas was stained with a thin coat of warm red - yellow acrylic paint. Again, I tried to keep the stain colour at or about the same value as a number five value on the grey scale.
My palette for this painting was ultramarine blue, cerulean blue, alizarin, cad red med., flesh, cad. yellow med. Indian yellow, yellow ocher, yellow green (lime) and titanium white. Other greens were mixed using the blues and yellows.
It was certainly nice to get into the lighter spring colours and a warmer weather subject.
A fair weather warning...Black fly season is just around the corner..
'til next...
