Autumn Weather

The Changing Season   16" x 20"   O/P

There does not seem to be a sign of autumn colours in my neighbourhood. So, you can imagine my surprise when I explored the country north of my home. It  seemed as though the whole world had changed its' green face for a fall mask. This mask to my eyes was painted with golds, russets, pinks, reds and oranges.
It was hard to imagine a limited palette such as mine capturing autumns' face.

My limited palette for this beginning of fall painting was, Prussian blue, cobalt blue, cerulean blue, alizarin, cad red light, cad.yellow med, yellow ocher, chromium oxide and titanium white.
Odourless mineral spirits was my medium.

One can only hope to come close to imitating or capturing on canvas, the face of nature's autumn.

'til next..
