A Wet, Chilly Autumn Day

Autumn Barn Yard   10" x 12"    O/P

This scene is a bit of an exaggeration in that the scene is real, but the timing is wrong. Today, the weather in this scene is of a typical early fall, end of summer kind of day. I just could not wait for the greens to just disappear ! As the painting developed, my imagination sort of took over and I ended up with a cool, damp, typical late fall day.

I used a limited palette for this painting. Prussian blue, cerulean blue, cad yellow med., yellow ocher, alizarin,  cad. red med. and titanium white.
My medium was orange scented thinner.

I was pleasantly pleased with the result of my efforts.

'til nest...

esoa azules tan intensos que sugieren frialdad, están perfectamente compensados con la calidez de los rojos.Enhorabuena, me gusta mucho

Gidday Loner!... Now that's a Franco-American gem! Love that flash of red in amongst all of those cooler blues!

One of my favourites to date at you site Frank!
