Fixer upper ..7" x 9" ..o/p

This piece was painted on a non stained panel. I used the same palette of colours as in previous paintings.
The plan was to wash in the the subject and the darkest shadows at the same time. Following that, I rubbed out the paint to reveal the brightest highlights.
I then proceeded to draw in the main objects of the composition utilizing the dark wash , shadows and lightest lights. (The building and trees made up the starting wash of darks and lights.)
After this stage was finished, I proceeded to start working on the bigger details by refining the left and right background and the sky. Following that , I worked up the snow and shadows in the foreground . The finished painting was taking shape. All that was left to do was to work on the finishing details.
This seemed like a good plan as everything felt like it was falling into place as I proceeded.
...Don't you just love it when a plan comes together ?

'til next..
