Midday Autumn Light ... 6" x 8" ... O/P

This is a rather small painting in comparison to some others I have painted recently. The panel was prepared with an under painting the same as previous panels.
The palette for this painting was the left over paint from the last painting, Nature's Colour Exhibit .
I managed to use a larger brush on this piece right from the start, I think that this gives the painting as a whole, a looser look and feeling.
The reference was further away than usual and as such, many of the details were blurred and many edges were softer or lost. Many of the colour 'values' in the painting were more distinct and fewer of them. The scene was not unlike viewing an out of focus slide, or squinting to view the subject. Not being able to determine the view clearly, leaves room for the artist to improvise, or paint his/her impression of the subject.

'til next..
