On The Middle Road 10" x 12" O/P

It starts from now ! Some of the trees in this area are beginning to show their autumn colours. It will only be a matter of a few short weeks before the autumn colours will be at their most brilliant. Photographers and artists alike will be out in full force trying to capture natures explostion of colour in the two short weeks that it takes to happen and last.
My palette for this particular painting was the same as the previous painting. This painting differs in that the painting was initially started by using 'washes' of dark colours in the shadow areas of the previously drawn subject..( As I mentioned before, in the previous painting, very little if any odourless mineral spirits was used at this point or in that painting.) Light areas of the painting also received a lighter wash of their local colours. This portion of the painting was then left to 'air dry' for a short period of time. . After air drying, I proceeded to lay in the middle values of the shadow areas. (using less medium) Lastly the high lights were added using the brightest colours. Lastly, I played at bringing up the lightest colours in the lighter washed areas of local colour.
I checked for lost and found edges, added 'sky holes', and played up other nuances I felt were important to the painting.
Get ready for the colour !
'til next..

Remarkable pick of colors. I think the canvas and your colors share a great love affair!!!

Have you ever been to India? You can always portray the real natural beauty of Indian locales that are so inviting.

Regards

Although I have never been to India, I am aware and inspired by the colours I have seen in many references . Maybe some day... :)
