Aside from the autumn colours what drew my attention to this scene was the low horizon line and how it accented the long flatness of the perspective. The sight of it felt like an invitation to paint .
Again, this panel was a gessoed prepared ( two applications) panel without the red-orange under painting that I usually use.
The paint on the palette at the beginning of the painting was the leftover paint from the previous painting. I added fresh paint to the palette as the painting progressed. This palette was the "split palette" made up with the warm and cool three primaries. The three primaries in this case were, Alizarin, Ultramarine blue, Cadmium yellow med. and cools, Lemon yellow, Cerulean blue, Cadmium red light and Titanium white The method for this painting was the same as the previous painting.
Another 'fun' autumn painting !
'til next..
