Northern Barns 10"x12" O/P
Well guys/gals, Mother Nature has played a trick on me this morning. As much as Rene says spring has turned into summer in Holland, winter is still flirting with spring where I am . .....Yuk !....Snow !
This painting was painted from a photo reference and sketch taken and drawn in weather not unlike today. (I changed the sky and some other values) .. :-) The palette for this painting and support is the same as for the last few paintings. No additional colours were used.
The enlargement of this section of the painting helps to give some idea of the brushwork used to create the impression of the subject.
...Waiting for spring ...still !

'til next..

Hi Frank,
what a nice painterly oil! Very expressive, great colors as well. Sorry about your weather, it did snow for all of 4 minutes here in Atlanta this morning, but never got a chance to stay on the ground.
All the best.

Sorry to hear that Frank, but I am NOT gonna send Spring over to you, I need it much to much hehehe

(rented a cabin next week to paint the flower bulbs on the other side of Holland)

Hi Rene ! I guess I will just have to suffer through till the good days come. :-)(as you are not sharing)
That "Op bezoek" piece was just beautiful, Rene. ...And very touching. These pieces look good on you . :-)
Best of luck with your painting trip on the other side of Holland.

Ok, this is your last chance to share the good weather...

Anyway, take care..

I love the colors! Who knows -- maybe if you keep painting Spring landscapes, Spring will get to you sooner than you think!
All the best!

Thank you, Doina.. I love the way that you think. I will keep that thought in mind as I paint in our latest 'spring' snow. :-)

Nice to hear from you.

Stay well.
