The above illustration is the drawing and layout for my next studio painting. (I hope.) The support for this painting is stretched canvas that has been prepared with three coats of gesso and a final coat of red-yellow acrylic paint. The drawing that is shown on the canvas is my final layout before the painting process. It is a brush drawing using alizarin and ultramarine blue oil paint .
The incentive for this studio piece is a previous
plein air painting that I had painted in the fall. I hope that the final painting will stay close to the original sketch and plein air. Well, maybe some minor changes.. :-)
I was hoping to have it finished over the next three days. As usual, (or so I have been told) life will be getting in the way. It will mean a delay for at least a couple of days. (sigh) So be it.
This painting will be 36" x 40"
Can't wait to get back at it..
