"Deserted Cheese Factory" 8"x 10" O/P (revisited)

Awhile back (Jan. 10) I did a painting that I had named 'Deserted Cheese Factory'. It had since been on my mind to do a painting of the complete building. The first piece had been painted using photo reference. At the time, I was interested in the end of the building and the light upon it. I feel that having the complete building in the painting provides a strong supporting cast and balance to the more dominate fall colours and strong light falling on the end of the building.

The support for this painting was a 8"x 10" panel that I had previously painted on and wiped off ( it happens :-) ) leaving a grayish tone with some colour hi-lites and a fairly smooth painting surface. The colours on my palette were limited to Ultramarine Blue, Cerulean Blue, Alizarin, Cadmium Red Light, Cadmium Yellow Medium, Lemon Yellow and Titanium White. Hints of Grey may also be seen in the painting and it is the result of left over paint from a previous painting being mixed together. In this particular case, it was lightened by the addition of Titanium White. In this painting, no medium was added to the mixtures, unless you count the cleaning fluid. ( it and my medium are the same )

So, now that is off my mind and the "Deserted Cheese Factory" will be preserved, if only in paint.

'til next.

Hi Rob..

Thanks for your compliment. A new one is up but I do not see what there would be to study. :-)
