"On The Road To Westport" 8" x 10" Oil on panel, limited palette

In this particular painting, I tried to capture the feeling of spring . I feel that the limited palette aids in creating this effect. Because all the colours in the painting were mixed from the original palette colours, Ultramarine Blue, Cadmium Yellow Medium, Alizarin Crimson and Titanium White, there is a unison in all the mixtures. With the addition of grey, (Grey of Grey) there seems to be a harmony among the mixtures, that further suggests an even stronger and truer visual feeling of spring.

..'til next.
